Practical Aspects of International Boundaries and Sovereignty Disputes

We are pleased to announce that the London International Boundary Conference 2017, which will take place on 5-6 June 2017 at the Kingís College Londonís Strand campus, has launched a call for papers.

This conference will provide a unique and multidisciplinary insight into the complex world of international boundary and territorial questions. Each panel will offer a balance of established expertise and emerging talent.

The King's College London (Department of Geography) and Volterra Fietta invite any interested parties to submit their abstract to Kelly Cartwright (Kelly.Cartwright@volterrafietta.com) by Tuesday 31 January 2017. This abstract should be written in English and contain no more than 500 words. It should include the title of the paper as well as the name and contact details of the author.

Interested parties may submit an abstract on one of the following topics:

  1. Oil concessions and territorial definition
  2. Indigenous peoples and boundaries
  3. Falklands/ Malvinas
  4. European boundaries, migration and territoriality
  5. Trans-boundary pipelines
  6. Putting up walls: boundary securitisation and fortification
  7. Archival research for boundary disputes
  8. The latest developments in maritime boundary delimitation

Once abstracts have been reviewed, authors of selected abstracts will be invited to submit their paper and participate in one of the conference panels.
