Exploring an Integrated Approach to International Boundary and Territorial Questions
1-2 December 2015
Technical Workshops 30 November and 2 December 2015
The London International Boundary Conference 2015 will take place on 1-2 December 2015 at the Royal Geographical Society.
The event will provide a unique and multidisciplinary insight into the complex world of international boundary and sovereignty disputes. Panelists participating are among the world's leading experts and practitioners in the effective resolution of territorial disputes. Professor Tullio Treves, former Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (and President of the Seabed Disputes Chamber), will be the keynote speaker of the Conference.
The speakers will examine recent developments in disputed "hotspots" around the world, and discuss new and emerging ideas for the resolution and management of territorial disputes from legal, geopolitical, technical, commercial and other viewpoints. The conference will examine how these varied, emerging perspectives might inform a more integrated approach to international boundary and territorial disputes.
The London International Boundary Conference will attract all those with an interest in international boundary and sovereignty issues, whatever their particular background or perspective. In addition, a number of representatives from UK and international media will be attending the Conference. The Conference, which will be a not-for-profit event, will be hosted by the King's College London (Department of Geography), Volterra Fietta, Marbdy Consulting Ltd and Maritime Zone Solutions Ltd.
Two technical workshops offering a practical introduction to maritime limits and boundaries will be run on 30 November in the afternoon and on 2 December in the morning, respectively.
The London International Boundary Conference 2015 is CPD accredited for solicitors and members of the bar.
